December 2005: Cast in Shadows
Guru Project client, rock band Cast In Shadows are nearing completion on their
debut full-length album. The band has also recently inked a
full-service marketing deal with Guru Project, thanks to the foresight
of their record label, Statutory Records.
December 2005: Anton Fig in Studio
Anton Fig (drummer
for The David Letterman Show) stopped by The Guru Project studio to
record a few drum tracks for Bakithi Kumalo's new album. Anton's talent and
energy brought a new element to the tracks and it was a pleasure
working with such a consummate professional. Photo Gallery.
October 2005: Les Paul
Guru Project's very own Chris Pati was present at the honorary
gathering for legend Les Paul in celebration of his 90th Birthday in
NYC. Chris can attest to how astoundingly sharp Les is, and why he has
been such a force in music for all of these years. Chris calls the
time with Les "a singular moment in my life." Photo.
September 2005: Introducing Modern Voices Distribution
June 2005: Guru Project is proud to announce its first celebrity
client, Bakithi Kumalo.
Bakithi is considered one of the top bass players in the world, having
toured with artists including Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Jon Secada,
Paul Simon and Gloria Estefan. Bakithi rocketed to the world stage by
playing on Paul Simon's "Graceland," which earned him a Grammy.
Guru Project is preparing for a worldwide release of Bakithi's fifth
album, titled "This is Me." In addition, pre-production has begun for
his upcoming album featuring an all-star lineup of guest performers.
December 2004: Gregg Riedel appointed Director of Broadcast
Systems, MTV Networks
Guru Project CTO Gregg Riedel has been appointed Director of Broadcast
Systems at MTV Networks. He will be responsible for broadcast
graphics automation for MTV Networks' one hundred channels, including
MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.
November 2004: The Official Ministry After Party
On November 30th, 2004, The Guru Project presented The Official
Ministry After Party with Al Jourgenson and members of Ministry in
attendance. Guru Project client Broken and Disgraceland Family
Freakshow performed. Turnout was tremendous, and we were honored to
have members of bands such as Dope, Twisted Method, Hantzel und
Gretyl, Through the Discipline and Bile come down and show their
support.
November 2004: Introducing the VSL-I pro-monitor.
Gurutek, The Guru Project's technology arm, has collaborated with
legendary loudspeaker designer Carl J. Marchisotto to create the VSL-I, a
state-of-the-art studio monitor that offers the most accurate sound on
the market today, at half the cost of its nearest competitors.
September 2004: Broken Plays Locobazooka Music Festival
Broken created an astounding amount of buzz at the Locobazooka
Music Festival in Massachusetts. Broken played on the "Harder,
Faster" Stage with such bands as Shadows Fall, Kittie, All That
Remains, Candiria, Clutch, and Damage Plan. Broken played in front of
one of the largest crowds that the stage saw all day, with an
overwhelming response from thousands of fans.
September 9, 2004: Guru Project hosts seminar
"How to Write and Produce a Commercially Viable Song", hosted

June 2004: Tani Lynn Recording in Maui
Singer Tani Lynn is recording with Chris
Pati at our Hawaiian studio in June in preparation for her new
album. Tani is a singer/actress/model who has appeared in Baywatch
Hawaii and performed in the first Apollo Kids Finals in New York. Her
publicist is Blaise Noto. Tani's Press
April 2004: Karli Bonne #1
Utilizing Guru Project services, Karli Bonne has achieved a #1
position on White Dove Radio, "The #1 Independent Radio Station on the
Internet". The rankings are determined by popular vote. View the
